It took some time to find one but we finally uncovered an umbrella that uses recycled material. The Futai umbrella uses fabric for its canopy that is made out of recycled PET #1 plastic bottles.
 
At the same time the umbrella is sturdy enough for real rain and wind use and has a steel wind resistant frame. It is compact enough to fit into a bag and quickly opens in case of rain – auto open – and after you’re done with it press the auto close button to help shake the water out and close the umbrella.
 
The umbrella is so environmentally friendly that even the color is green.
